About Win-Linux.com

Win-Linux.com is an independent technical reference built for people moving between Windows and Linux. Its purpose is to connect tasks users already understand on Windows with the Linux concepts, commands and distribution differences they need to learn.

What the site publishes

The site has three layers: long-form learning guides, topic-based command hubs, and individual command mappings. The Linux distribution explorer adds a separate comparison layer for release models, package managers, desktops and common use cases.

What a command “equivalent” means

Equivalent does not mean identical. Some Windows and Linux commands have closely matching behavior; others only solve the same general task. Pages are intended to call out those differences instead of presenting a command substitution as universally interchangeable.

Independence

Win-Linux.com is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft, Canonical, Red Hat, Fedora, Arch Linux or other operating-system vendors and projects mentioned on the site. Product and project names belong to their respective owners.

Corrections and feedback

Technical references improve when errors are reported. If you find an incorrect mapping, outdated distribution detail or unclear explanation, include the affected page URL and the correction you are suggesting. Contact: privacy@win-linux.com.
